I am a Internal Medicine and Pain Physician, specialized in Oncological Pain, working as a senior physician at the Pain Institute of the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov).
At Ichilov Hospital I run an oncology clinic with an emphasis is on minimally invasive treatments for pain relief. I also co-manage a clinic focused on intractable cancer pain, characterized by its inter-disciplinary approach to sustained oncological pain, in which the emphasis is on a neurosurgical approach.
My patients usually suffer from various types of pain including: cancer related pain, skeletal muscle pain (also known as “Myo-Fascial” Pain), lower back pain, upper and neck “sciatica”, secondary pain for slipped disc, neuropathic pain (from nerve damage) and pain from herpes zoster (shingles), as well as headaches and chronic pain after surgery.
I offer a wide range of treatments from simple and conservative treatments such as dry acupuncture to minimally invasive procedures for nerves, muscles, skeletons, and spinal cord. These typically result in significant pain relief and a reduction in dosage of anti-pain medication.

Originally, I am a graduate of the medical school of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. I specialized in Internal Medicine and then in Pain Medicine at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv I was exposed to supportive care in the hospital as well as in the community when I worked as a regional physician in a home hospice service. As a clinical fellow at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, I was working to relieve the pain of oncology patients with a focus on minimally invasive approaches.
Pain is a complex sensory experience with many biological and psychological components . Patients experience pain in different ways and it is not a mistake to say that there are as many patients as number of experiences. The commonality in all cases is that, when trying to find a solution, we need to be attentive to the patient and try to characterize each of the different components and how they affect the patient.
In my clinic, before examining my patients and asking about the nature of the pain, I will typically ask questions to try to understand who my patient is; occupation, hobbies, marital status, full personal medical history and sometimes family, expectations, desires and aspirations This process enables me to better understand my patient hence understanding the mechanisms of pain, in order to choose the most appropriate means of treatment.
